Four countries. One river to take you to all of them.
From March through November, the Rhine is particularly impressive -- the perfect time to cruise to cities in Switzerland, France, Germany and The Netherlands. Strasbourg is home to a UNESCO- designated city centre and dozens of half-timbered houses, which appear to be right out of a fairytale.
A day in Speyer offers the opportunity to visit the elegant Doktorenhof vinegar estate. As you sample several wine vinegar aperitifs, you'll learn about the art of vinegar making and the many gourmet uses of this magical liquid, from cooking to drinking to medicinal remedies.
For active types, a bicycle ride along the Moselle River is a fresh and fun way to take in the beautiful scenery. But where are the castles, you ask?
They are sprinkled throughout your voyage, including the grand Marksburg Castle, hovering high above the town of Braubach. A visit to Castle Vollrads includes an exclusive wine tasting, where you can sip local Riesling like royalty.
