Day 3 - Busan, Korea

As the second largest city in Korea, Busan is famous for both tourist and shopping attractions. Giant department stores (such as Shinsegae Centum City, the largest department store in the world) and numerous shopping streets offer a wide selection of merchandise, drawing local and international visitors year-round. Busan is home to the Jagalchi Market, famous for its astounding variety of fresh seafood sold at extremely reasonable prices. Visitors can even have their purchases prepared right in front of them, ensuring the freshest meal or snack possible. The seafood market is full of the sights, smells, and sounds of fresh seafood caught in the waters right off the Busan Port. Various traditional markets such as the Gukje Market also treat guests to the boisterous, vibrant marketplace experience and the incomparable hospitality of the merchants and citizens of Busan.

Sasebo is a port on the rugged coast of the Nagasaki Prefecture, comprising a myriad of green islets. The Sasebo Seaside Park near the Kujirase Futo Pier is the perfect place to view the coast, along which you will see dozens of boats moored. The Yumiharidake Observatory offers a panoramic view of the nearby islands of Kujuku Shima Islands and the slightly more distant Goto Islands. Huis Ten Bosch, a theme park that recreates many Dutch-style buildings, is just half an hour from the town, which also has a beautiful park planted with seasonal flowers.

Day 6 - Nagoya, Aichi

Nagoya is the fourth most populous city in Japan, but much less chaotic than Tokyo. It is home to an important community of Italians living there permanently. The castle has been recently renovated and is well worth a visit. While in the area of the port of Nagoya, you can find a large aquarium and a ship open to visitors, which was used for expeditions to Antarctica. From Nagoya, Takayama and Shirakawa are within easy reach. Takayama, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the Japanese Alps, has kept the charm of yesteryear intact . Here, within a century-old brewery, a special sake beer is brewed. While from the District of Shirakawa, you can go to Shirakawago, one of Japan’s historical villages listed among the UNESCO World Heritage sites. The site is famous for its ancient buildings, called gasshō-zukuri, the roofs of which are reminiscent of hands clasped in prayer.
