Day 1 - Yokohama, Japan

Our Costa cruise ship will dock at Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal, also known as Osanbashi Pier. Yokohama is an active maritime centre from where our Costa excursion will take us to Tokyo, the vibrant capital of Japan: a metropolis that will leave you speechless. The largest Chinatown in Japan is located in Yokohama. The Zoorasia zoological garden is also worth a visit, inspired by the criteria of "symbiosis of life" and "harmony with nature". The Hakkeijima Sea Paradise is an amusement park located on a small island roughly 30 minutes by train south of downtown Yokohama. There's time for a beer at the brewery in Kirin Beer Village, part of which is open to the public for tastings.

Day 2 - Kobe, Japan

Kobe is a port city in Hyogo Prefecture, 33km west of Osaka, and one of Japan's most pleasant cities for both residents and visitors alike, with a laid-back cosmopolitan feel. Now completely rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1995, Kobe's dramatic location, sandwiched on a narrow strip of land between mountains and sea, allied to its great food and lively nightlife make the city an ideal place to go if you are visiting nearby Kyoto or Osaka.

Day 5 - Vladivostok, Russia

Vladivostok is a major Pacific port city in Russia overlooking Golden Horn Bay, near the borders with China and North Korea. It's known as a terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway, which links the city to Moscow in a 7-day journey. In the city center is Central Square, where a towering memorial pays tribute to local soldiers who fought Japanese forces in the early 20th century.

Day 7 - Hakodate

Hakodate is the southernmost city of the Island of Hokkaido, the northernmost part of Japan. Mount Hakodate, whose peak is reachable by cable car, offers a splendid view of the city, made special by the presence of many churches with their bell towers. In fact, Orthodox belief spread to Hakodate due to the presence of the Russian Embassy. Foodies simply must taste the best ramen (rice with seafood) of Japan, but you will also find great Hakodate donburi (rice with fish, meat and stewed vegetables), live cuttlefish (for the more adventurous) and delicious crab. All the venues are close to the fish market, which is well worth a visit.
