For a vibrant and colourful atmosphere in the city, exploring Chinatown, the largest of its kind in Japan, will not leave you disappointed. Established here at the same time as Yokohama’s port, history can be discovered in the form of old shops and architecture, while beautiful temples such as the Kwan Tai Temple and the attractive East Gate convey a distinct Chinese culture.

Day 4 - Keelung, Taiwan

Keelung is the port city of Taiwan, just 20 minutes ride from capital Taipei. You’ll find most of Keelung’s highlights in the central areas of the city, or within three miles of the downtown area. Probably most famous of all is the Miaokou Market. Rambling through the bustling streets of downtown Keelung the market assaults all your senses. You can touch, smell, see and hear a mesmerizing hubbub of entertainment and activity as well as taste some of the most magnificent street food you will ever experience.

Day 5 - Ishigaki, Japan

Approach Ishigaki with your eyes closed and you could easily believe you’ve been transported to the Caribbean. The island is rich with Samurai and Ryukyu Kingdom history, while adventurous visitors can kayak through mangrove-lined rivers, hike palm-laden forest and dive among manta rays in colourful coral reefs. Ishigaki is no exception, boasting a vibrant blend of restaurants proudly serving typical provincial delicacies.

Day 6 - Miyagojima (Hirara), Japan

Miyakojima, in the Okinawa islands, is an idyllic, tropical paradise of picturesque beaches and colourful coral reefs. The entire island is covered with unbelievably beautiful beaches, but two of the best are Yonahamaehama Beach, with its four miles of white sand, and the Imugya Marine Garden, which is excellent for snorkelling. Explore the caves and tunnels of the beautiful coral reefs and witness the exotic inhabitants, like puffer and porcupine fish.

Day 7 - Naha, Okinawa, Japan

Okinawa is the largest of the Ryukyu Islands in the Pacific Ocean and the homeland of the martial art of Karate. Meanwhile, the underground Navy headquarters have some incredible war stories to share. Almost entirely destroyed in 1945, during one of the most extreme battles of World War Two, the island has rebuilt and renovated itself, managing to retain much of its rich cultural history.
